Institutional Preferred Equity Trading

INSTITUTIONAL PREFERRED EQUITY TRADING

With a unique position at the intersection of equities and traditional fixed income, preferred stocks hold broad appeal throughout the investment community of insurance companies, money managers, mutual funds managers, and family offices that represents our institutional client base. The team takes a comprehensive approach to servicing clients, drawing upon a foundation of decades of experience in the sector, while combining the analytical power of Bloomberg’s Professional software with a real-time Order Management System to ensure compliance and best execution.

The Preferred Stock group oversees trading and execution on the secondary market in addition to new issue distribution.  In an environment of historically low domestic interest rates, new issue preferred stocks can provide a meaningful yield pickup (relative to common equity) with incremental risk.  By leveraging our expertise, we help our clients comply with investment mandates for yield and sector diversification.

Clients have the ability to interact with the group in a variety of ways, guided by their compliance requirements and personal preferences.  Orders may be accepted/executed directly with our OMS via a FIX connection, via Bloomberg, or by voice.  Post-trade reporting and comprehensive reports are handled by the group (as an additional level of client servicing) regardless of the method of order placement.
